Collabos & Convos

Every once in awhile... or a year I think... Converse (yes, the sneaks brand) releases a single as part of their "3 artists 1 song" series.

As you may or may not have been able to decipher from the name of it, the series features the collaboration of 3 artists to create one new  song, set to a music video with a good deal of product placement. But hey, I can live with that as long as the tunes are good, and surprisingly they really are!

My past faves include the one a couple summers ago, not-so-coincidentally titled "All Summer," which brought together Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino, Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij, and the lyrical stylings of Kid Cudi. The video had them all donning hilarious paper machet masks of their heads.

This year Converse has managed to put out another great track and original video featuring Kimbra (i die!), Mark Foster from Foster the People (makes sense now, eh?), and A-Trak. The video for "Warrior" finds the trio in a shady warehouse, forced to battle in some underground mexican wrestling ring, equipped with some pretty awesome lucha libre masks, of course.

The song is super catchy and definitely has me dreaming of a Kimbra and Foster the People collaboration in the near future.
Check it!
